Who Is Who
- Dhan Shrestha

The ANA Convention Boston 2010 provided our photography team with a fabulous platform to present our skills and talents in photography. Running around with camera gears to capture ANA’s historic moments was the main goal of our team, which we did successfully. Capturing in cameras the mood of activities at events in order for us to tell the living story would have been impossible had we not have skillful and committed photographers in our team, and we had great photographers along with great work ethics. Our team members worked hard, worked long hours and captured the details of events as they unfolded. To honor what they have given to the Nepali communities and for what they have accomplished as the photography team members during the Convention, I strongly feel that, I have an obligation to jot down a few lines about each of these great volunteers. Your volunteerism to undertake this responsibility is highly appreciative!

  1. Aadit Sitaula: Energetic, polite, compassionate, friendly, an all-rounder who possesses in-depth knowledge from photography to videography, computer technicality to Web design, from social work to making new friends instantly. He is a let’s-do-it-now guy and I loved working with him. Aadit photographed and videographed Table Tennis during the Convention, and also designed the Web photo gallery. True rescuer, Kudos!
  1. Ang Kami Sherpa: A gentle man who is more focused on the job than anything else. Cooperation, honesty and strong skills in photography are a few among many charms he brings along to the team. Ang covered the entire soccer games for three hot and humid days without much needed food and water and never complained about it. His ability to mingle with people and photography work are what makes him well known in New York City.
  1. Bimal Nepal: Formerly a business journalist for the Samacharpatra daily newspaper in our native country, Bimal is intelligent, friendly and always willing to do more work. His artistic vision and enthusiasm into photography is what counts most. Bimal arrived into digital photography a few years ago, but has a unique approach: hybrid of traditional and contemporary, which gives images a new look. He covered various indoor events.
  1. Nirajan Tuladhar: Appears as a quiet guy but quickly proves as intelligent, friendly who always fulfills given responsibilities in a timely manner. Provides honest answers to questions. Nirajan has strong skills not only in photography field but also in the world of graphic design. Openness to new ideas and easy-to-reach personality are the ones that make him a good team player. He covered Men’s and Women’s Basketball and images are breathtaking.
  1. Nisma Gurung: Brilliant young lady who helped in the team’s assignments. Nisma always comes up with great ideas. She is thoughtful and has more information on issues, like a dictionary, than anyone would think. Possesses strong managerial skills. Basic photography knowledge and consumer-level camera equipment is all that she needs to capture long-lasting memories and the images she brings in are just beautiful. Nisma photographed indoor events.
  1. Priyatam Piya: Just like his name, a lovely person with great personality who always wishes to have a meaningful conversation with people of all level. Communicating with Piya is a piece of cake. His willingness to work together with other volunteers, multi-tasking ability, strong photography skills, and in-depth knowledge in the Stage Sound System are a few attributes he brings in to the team. Great team player. Piya is always ready to help no matter what situation he is into. He covered various indoor events, including Basketball.
  1. Subodh Gurung: A lovely and quiet guy who tends to speak less but to the point when he does, and always ready to lend his hand when needed. Outstanding Time-Exposure skills in photography, a guru on this, I vouch. Subodh is honest, compassionate, and was ornamental to the photography team. He covered the entire Volleyball games.

Well, when we meet new people, it’s likely we become friends. I have become your friend and you all are true heroes. We all worked hard and worked together to meet this new height, and nothing there is impossible when a team works as one, again we have proven it. I had a great pleasure working with all of you. And, I wish in future we could continue working as a team and flourish a mountain.

Kudos and good luck!

Thank you,

Best Regards,
